Hello and welcome to LifeGuard. In this video, we’re going to show you how to setup a mySQL database using cPanel. When you login to your cPanel account, you’ll see a page similar to this one. You want to look for a box titled “Databases”. It’s usually toward the bottom half of the page. In the Databases box, click “mySQL Databses”. This brings you to a page that lets you manage your databases. The first thing we want to do is create a new database. Type a name in the first box under the “Create new Database” section and click “Create Database”. Next, we need to create a user. Under the mySQL Users section, enter a username and password, then click “Create User”.
Finally, we need to add the user we just created to the database. We simply go down to the “Add User to Database” section, select our user, select the database and click “Add”. We want to give this user all permissions, so check the “All Priviledges” box and click “Make Changes”.
You have now successfully created a new mySQL database and user!
