Hello and welcome to LifeGuard. In this video, we’ll look at both the Privacy and Permalink Settings pages. You can access both of these pages in the sidebar under the “Settings” menu.
Keep in mind that some of the options within Settings are very powerful and could potentially break your website if you adjust them carelessly. Make sure you are careful and know what you’re doing before changing anything.
The Privacy page is rather straightforward. This toggle either allows search engines to index your website, or requests that they do not. Your website will still be accessible to if you ask search engines not to index it.
The Permalink Settings allow you to adjust the URL structure of your posts. There are a number of presets available. We recommend using “Day and name”. You can also create your own URL structure using different tags. Read more about these tags at this link here.
The structure of the Category and tag URL can be changed with these boxes. Using a different base, such as”‘topics”, would output a link link this one with the base “topics” containing the category, “uncategorized”. This works the same works for tags as well.
