How to Check for the Current Version of WordPress

To see what version of WordPress you’re currently running, head to your WordPress dashboard home (The WordPress.org Dashboard) at yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ (How to login to a WordPress site). At the bottom of the “Right Now” widget of your WordPress Dashboard, it will tell you what version of WordPress you’re using.

Another way to check and see if you have the latest version of WordPress is to scroll down to the footer on any page of your WordPress dashboard and you’ll see one of three possibilities.

If you’re running the latest version of WordPress, you’ll see your version of WordPress and no prompt to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress:

Current Version of WordPress
Running the latest version of WordPress

If you do not have the current version of WordPress and need to update to the latest version of WordPress, you’ll see a prompt to update to the latest version of WordPress:

If you are running a beta version of WordPress, you’ll see something this:

Update your version of WordPress

And it’s that simple to see if your website is running the latest version of WordPress!

How to Update WordPress
